October is National Safe Work Month!

Every year, Safe Work Australia promote October as the month to remind everyone that safety is a priority in our workplaces. We are encouraged to prioritise work health and safety and take preventative action to reduce the number of work-related injuries, illnesses and fatalities. Each week, Safe Work Australia focus on different themes to promote different elements of work health and safety to provide information and guidance on the topics.

In support of this initiative, SafeWork SA have also organised free events for workers in South Australia to attend. These include a simulated incident, some mock trials and webinars. The simulated incident and mock trials will focus on a fictitious incident around a contractor engaged to build a nature playground and the resulting incident of a child at the work site. The webinars touch on some of the weekly topics identified by Safe Work Australia.
